Penny Riddle PRiddle

Monterey High School
Monterey, TN

Riddle's "Your Space" winning program is a student-run interior decor business that specializes in decorating dorm rooms and apartments. The participating students at Monterey High School will use the simulated business program, Virtual Enterprises, to create a real-world environment to learn about accounting, production, distribution, human resources, product development, marketing, and sales disciplines. The program also allows the students to engage in trade with nearly 3,000 Virtual Enterprise practice firms around the world. Through hands-on applications and written and verbal communication, the Monterey High firm will compete in marketing and trade related fields. Riddle, who lives in Sparta, hopes that students will understand how employees, workgroup teams and departments interact with each other for a common goal and that they will be encouraged to pursue careers in business.
